Botanical Garden of the Col de Saverne
The Botanical Garden of the Col de Saverne, a must to visit during your stay in Saverne
Make the most of your stay at the Hotel Chez Jean to go to the Botanical Garden of the Col de Saverne located only 4 minutes away by car.
The Botanical Garden of Saverne was created in 1931 by a pharmacist botanist from Saverne, Emile Walter. Covering an area of 3 hectares, it offers a real world tour of plants: European, African, Australian and Asian flora coexist with the local flora.
Take the different paths to discover the names of the plants thanks to the labels. The garden has an alpinum, lawns with native orchids, a pond, peat bogs, the rhododendron district and a rich fern garden. The arboretum features species from Europe, North America and Asia. The alpinum makes us discover mountain plants distributed in different rockeries.
